NERF

Grab a blaster, find some cover and keep an eye on your darts. You’ll want a few left when the other team makes its move.

Team challenges

What’s a game actually like?

Take the foam-dart battles you might know from home and give them a playing area, an organiser and something to win. You could be trying to capture the other team’s flag, defending a base or seeing which team is left at the end of a round.

Barriers give you somewhere to hide and a way to move around the field. The organiser explains how hits count, when you can rejoin and whether you can collect darts during play. Keeping a few darts in reserve can be useful when everyone else is busy reloading.

More than a box of blasters

A hosted session gives the games some structure. Staff explain the blasters, split the group into teams and introduce each round. Changing the objective gives players different things to try, rather than spending the whole session chasing the same person around one obstacle.

The setting varies. You might play in a dedicated arena, a sports hall set up with barriers or an outdoor activity area. Check the photos and session description so you know what you’re booking.

Planning a party?

Ask whether your group gets a private session and how many players the venue can accommodate. Check the age range, too: a group of younger children may need a different pace and simpler games than older players.

Find out how much time is spent playing and whether there’s somewhere for food and cake afterwards. A party package might include both, or you may need to arrange them separately.

What do you need to bring?

Check that blasters, darts and the required protective equipment are supplied. If someone wants to bring their favourite blaster from home, ask first: the organiser may use particular models or dart types to keep the games consistent.

Ask about clothing and footwear for the playing area. For outdoor sessions, check what happens if the weather changes and whether there’s somewhere to leave bags and coats.
